INTRODUCING
General Public is proud to present masterful photographic collections showcasing various forms, genres and aesthetics by artists from around the world.
Introducing General Public Photography.
Photography since its inception has been a medium defined by technological advancements. Joseph Nicéphore Niépce made the first photograph in 1826, cameras have since morphed and adapted and are now a ubiquitous part of our everyday lives. Photography is a means of visual communication with the artist providing their aesthetic through documentation. With the constant pushing of technological boundaries, photography set the stage for new concepts of how we engage with, view, and consider art.
“When you see a photograph that elicits something in you, that’s when you know you have something that translates and transcends”
Lisa Romerein
The inaugural collection displays talented photographers including Matthew Farrar, Lisa Romerein and Strati Hovartos featuring diverse, selected works now available at RH.
“I tend to look deeply at objects or a particular scene and see things that others may not. It may be the colors that set off a certain emotion or the effect the light has on a body of water”
Matthew Farrar
“I want you to look at my images and define it by your viewpoint”
Strati Hovartos
